THE WINES
As Cloisonne has grown our line up of wines we have continued to focus on California's finest regions. From Russian River Valley and Alexander Valley to Napa the 2021 through 2022 vintages had smaller harvests, but beautiful growing seasons. Delivering wines of exceptional ripeness and balance.
In the winery, we focused on maintaining the bright fruit by only aging in French oak for a few months and usually only with 10-30% new oak. Allowing the fruit aromas and flavors to shine while delivering a complex set of wines that we are truly proud of. We hope you enjoy our latest bottlings.
2022 Cloisonné Pinot Noir
Sonoma Coast
Deep garnet in color. Cherry, earth, spice and floral aromas jump out of the glass. Dark cherry, cola, and spice flavors are vibrant and engaging. Held in French oak for 12 months. Very balanced with a long and lingering finish.
2022 Cloisonné Chardonnay
Los Carneros
Golden yellow in color. Rich aromas of granny smith apple, white flowers and citrus notes. Silky texture with flavors of apple, citrus, minerality and a wisp of oak. Finishes with a full and lingering expression of Chardonnay.
Pair with roasted chicken, salmon or richer seafood dishes. Also perfect to drink on its own as an aperitif.
2021 Cloisonné Cabernet Sauvignon
Napa Valley
A complex wine with layers of deep black fruits. Deep aromas of plum, cassis, black tea, cedar, cigar box, and licorice. Long finish with baking spices on the palate. Supple tannins that that add structure and weight to this special wine. Aged for 17 months using 100% French oak to create a masterpiece. This wine demonstrates why Napa Valley is considered one of the finest places in the world to grow Cabernet Sauvignon.
2022 Cloisonné Sauvignon Blanc
Russian River Valley
Bright and aromatic from the cooler reaches of the Russian River Valley. Explosion of apricot, pineapple and citrus with crisp acidity. Fermented 50% in stainless steel and 50% neutral oak to provide a balance of fruit with striking aromatics. The picture perfect 2022 vintage allowed us to showcase what Sonoma can do with this grape. Crisp and energetic, this balanced wine pairs well with seafood, Asian dishes or can be enjoyed on its own.
